How to chair sessions or deliver presentations are different from usual meetings.

Symposium chairs are requested to join a connecting test, which is scheduled immediately before your session. The meeting secretariat will contact you for time and the URL for the connecting test in late July. You will get briefed on how to lead the session with online speakers and answer questions from online participants from Operating staff.
Time and other detailed information regarding the connecting test will be notified in the late July.

Please access to the connecting test URL with your PC in the meeting venue or your hotel room.
<Chairs who participate online>
Please access to the connecting test URL by the testing time.
Chairs are required to access to the Zoom meeting room as a panelist and lead the symposium.
Your video is displayed to all participants at any time: when you are introducing your speakers, opening and closing the session, proceeding Q&A session, and facilitating discussion, except during speakers are delivering their presentations.
Questions from online participants are displayed only on the meeting windows of chairs and speakers of your session.
You can learn more about how to lead online speakers or answers questions from onsite/online participants from “Manual for Chairs”, which will be available in the mid-July.
<Chairs who participate on-site in Kobe>
Bring your own computer and access to the Zoom meeting room as a panelist while you are sitting on the chair’s seat in the session room, then start and chair the session. You can leave your computer on the chair’s seat and move to audience seat once speakers start their presentations.
<Chairs who participate online>
Access to the Zoom meeting after the connecting test ends.
We will prepare for the environment enables both on-site and online audience to ask questions. Answer questions from both on-site and online audience.
The microphone in the session room is connected to the Zoom meeting, chairs who participate online can hear all questions.

Valuing in-person oral presentations and discussions of general abstracts, oral presentations are to be delivered only on-site in Kobe. We would like to request cooperation from chairs of oral sessions, ask to participate on-site and chair the session if possible.
An oral presentation is 15 minutes long. Each session consists of 3 to 4 oral presentations.

There is a computer prepared for you at chair’s seat in the session room. This computer has been connected to the Zoom meeting, and you can view questions from online participants.

We kindly ask session chairs to keep in mind the following points to smoothly proceed and realize fruitful symposia and oral sessions.
Please announce the following before the session begins:
“I would like to remind you that you should turn off your cell phones. Please remember that unauthorized photography and audio or video recording are NOT permitted.”
We kindly ask session chairs to prepare for the Q&A session, such as preparing questions designed to facilitate discussions so that they can bring them up should no questions are asked.
